The ferrite magnets may be isotropic or semi-anisotropic in nature while those ofNdFeB and SmCo are generally isotropic in nature. The magnet cost is based on material cost and is lower only with ferrite and not with NdFeB and SmCo. The magnet properties of magnets are lower compared to sintered counterparts. The maximum temperature of flexible ferrite is around 120°C. Some work has been performed and some uncured binders have been successful in temperatures as high as l50°C without any adverse physical or magnetic effects.

Boride phases, partly of metastable nature, have been proposed to help carrying the original orientation of as-cast 2-14-1-type grains throughout the disproportionation stage and thus enabling recombination in an ordered way leading to highly textured HDDR powders [8-10]. By now, there has also been ample evidence that the addition of elements such as Co and Ga might be beneficial for optimum magnetic properties after recombination but are not necessary for the inducement of texture [4, 7, 11, 12, 13].
